Today, international travel is widely accessible to many adventurers. With flights becoming cheaper and airlines offering better deals, more people are able to travel the globe. During my travel I have come up with a few tips that I would give to other travelers during their first international trip. 1. Arrive 2 hours early to the airport. Due to security checkpoints at airports, there may be long lines at airline checkin as well as the airport security line. In order to ensure that you make your flight on time, many airlines recommend that you arrive two hours early to the airport to have time to handle delays without missing your flight. Depending on your destination, you may want to consider adding a little more time, especially if you live in an area that has a lot of traffic that could delay you even further.   2. Avoid sleeping on flights. This may be a personal preference, but I have found that not sleeping on the flights helps me adjust to the local time of where I will be traveling easily and with minimal jet lag. Although it is a bit of a struggle on the plane, staying awake during the flight allows me to make the most of the time in the...
When most people think about flying, they imagine a miserable time cramped in a seat with no leg room.  I have taken flights that have consisted of 15 straight hours on an airplane.  At first it sounds pretty miserable, but if you bring the right tools to get you through it, even long flights can be enjoyable. While this blog can’t make more room in your seat, I hope it helps you enjoy your flight a little more. When I sit down, I see that space as my home for however long the flight is.  Preferred seat choice varies from person to person, but I enjoy the aisle or the window over a middle seat.  The benefit of the aisle is that you can get up at any time to stretch your legs or go to the bathroom.  The downside is you have to get up every time someone else wants to do the same.  The window seat is great because no one ever has to cross over you, but you are at the mercy of others if you need to stretch or go to the bathroom. Before boarding, I try and get my stuff together that I will have out...
Eddie Bauer has truly delivered the best piece of luggage I have ever owned for many reasons. When I travel (often internationally), my bag will be tossed around 8-10 times during a trip, due to transfers, layovers, in country flights, or 15 hour flights.  My luggage comes out of the conveyor belt beat up and worn out. Thankfully, I don’t have to worry about that any more. Here are my top 3 reasons why I will never use anything but my Eddie Bauer luggage:   1. It has a LIFETIME warranty Their return policy is straightforward and easy.  If it rips, busts, breaks, tears, comes apart, zipper failure, etc., all you have to do is bring it back in the store and they replace it on the spot, which I have already done once.  Seriously, I have not found another bag that has this backing on it.   2. The design It is awesome.  I currently travel with the large duffle and it works for all of my 7-12 day trips.  Fully stuffed, I can fit about 42 – 46 lbs into the duffle.  There is a bottom compartment where I put shoes, jackets or any other bulky item. This zips shut, then...
