Combining two best selling products, ENO announces new bug-battling hammock design just in time for warmer temperatures Eagles Nest Outfitters (ENO), the industry leading parachute hammock company, continues to expand their popular hammock series with the JungleNest Hammock. Designed specifically for battling biting and stinging insects while on the trail, the JungleNest combines two of the company’s best sellers – the SingleNest Hammock and Guardian BugNet – into one insect protection fortress. Measuring 9′ x 4’8”, the JungleNest features 210D Nylon Taffeta Ripstop, a full-length easy-access zipper entry, a secret stash pocket in the attached stuff sack, an interior zippered organizational pocket, and built in prusik knots for easy hanging. Marrying ease and design, an interior bungee cordlock system allows the user to adjust the loft from the inside – maximizing relaxation time and minimizing insect annoyances. “ENO is striving to support people who hammock in a variety of conditions and climates, and we recognize that some of our hammockers are dealing with bugs 100% of the time,” said James Frinak, ENO’s chief Designer. “A removable bug net is not their best solution, so the JungleNest was born to help fill in that void.” Similar to the other hammocks in ENO’s line, the JungleNest sets up in...
Is it a space worm? Is it a sparkling oversized burrito? Is it a shiny, glamorous cocoon? No, it’s the Disco Hammock from Eagles Nest Outfitters, in conjunction with online clothing community Betabrand. A year in the making, the adapted DoubleNest is constructed from Betabrand’s home-grown disconium – an absurdly shiny material created specifically for the lifestyle company – with ENO’s industry-leading hammock pattern. A true collaborative effort, the idea was originally conceived by Robbie Wiedie, Betabrand’s Community Manager, through their Disco Open Source Project, and given life by ENO’s Head Developer, James Frinak. “I was first introduced to ENO hammocks while working for the Forest Service as a wildland firefighter,” said Wiedie. “There was something enamoring to the thought of wrapping myself up like a hanging space work in complete juxtaposition to the natural surroundings of the woods.” The juncture will be the first partnership for ENO with a lifestyle clothing company, and the co-branded Disco Hammock emits a different (sparkly) vibe from their other predominantly outdoors-focused in-line products. “In general, outdoor gear is so utilitarian it doesn’t give us the opportunity for playful and whimsy products,” said Frinak. “The Disco Hammock is exciting because it brings together utility...
Eagles Nest Outfitters’ Kanga™ Backpack Eagles Nest Outfitters’ (ENO) newest lifestyle bag, the Kanga takes hammock storage to the next level. Asheville, N.C., February 12, 2014 — Eagles Nest Outfitters (ENO), the leading provider of packable, camping hammocks, debuts their first lifestyle day pack: the Kanga. Larger than ENO’s other hammock storage solution, the Possum Pocket, the sleek construction, two-fold purpose and bright color palette of the Kanga is designed for more than just the great outdoors.   Joining a variety of other bags and cases, the Kanga is developed to serve the need of a multi-functional bag perfect for day-to-day activities as well as outdoor adventures. Where the Possum Pocket allows just enough space for a hammock and suspension system, the Kanga highlights a larger and more flexible design, with two exterior pockets, two interior pockets, and a zippered wallet stash. “Our customers are looking for more from us,” said Peter Pinholster, ENO’s co-owner and president. “The Kanga is a way for us to be part of their everyday life, while still complimenting our hammock lines.” Created from 200D Ripstop Nylon with a DWR and PU finish, the Kanga is durable for the active lifestyle of ENO’s market. Plus, fashioned with comfort in mind, the adjustable, padded shoulder...
February 3rd, 2014 – Asheville, NC – This year’s Winter Outdoor Retailer proved particularly rewarding for Eagles Nest Outfitters (ENO), creators of hammocks and relaxation products for outdoor enthusiasts.  The brand hosted a friendly competition between America’s two most prestigious hiking trails and their conservation groups, the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC), and the Pacific Crest Trail Association (PCTA), in an effort to raise funds for trail preservation and management.  The event, dubbed “East vs. West: A Tale of Sister Trails,” marked the first time that ENO, the ATC, and the PCTA had collaborated on a fundraising event.
