Do you want to tell the world about your travels but don’t know where to start?
Most people have tried to blog at one point in their life. The hardest part of blogging is keeping up with content and also managing the blog service itself. While creating content is up to the individual, displaying it nicely has become easier over the years. There are many options to choose from for a blogging services and most of them are free with options for premium themes or services for a small fee. I have used multiple platforms and the three I would consider choosing from are:
WordPress is one of the industry leaders in the blogging and web sphere and there is a reason for it. This site is the “largest self-hosted blogging tool in the world, used on millions of sites and seen by tens of millions of people every day” according to their website. It is easy to use, has premium themes to purchase and you can add your own domain easily to your blog. You can also use this service for free which is appealing for first time bloggers.
If you do a lot of mobile blogging and posting, Tumblr may be your best choice. Their app makes it easy to post on the go including pictures and videos. It is not complex and offers premium themes for purchase. You can use the service 100% free of charge, although some limitations may be present. This is a great service to consider for the first time blogger because it is so customizable but also very easy to use.
Squarespace is the newest platform out of the three and offers a free trial for their site followed by monthly or yearly fees. This one is probably the best option if you are looking for more of a “website feel” but does have a cost which is a downside for many potential users.
Each blogger will have a different reason to write and a different way they want their blog to appear. I suggest trying each one and seeing which fits your needs best. Blogging is a great way to share about your adventures and inspire others to try new things as well!
