Are there a lot of pointless holidays out in the world? Yes, yes, there are. But National Hammock Day is not one of them. It’s our Super Bowl. Who could hate on a holiday that gives you permission to fully relax?
Pro tip: Every year, ENO hosts a one-day flash sale on July 22 to celebrate National Hammock Day, offering up to 25% off sitewide. Don’t want to miss that? Sign up for our email newsletter or texts to get early access and special reminders.
If you’re a hammock super-fan like us, here are some ideas for how you can plan to celebrate this National Hammock Day.
1. Host a hammock meetup
Get your crew together in your favorite local park. Find a cluster of trees and set up as many DoubleNest Hammocks together as possible (but don’t stack them) and just chill out. Leave your phones behind, but bring snacks, games, and simply enjoy an evening together.

2. Take an outdoor nap
Even if it’s just 20 minutes, outside naps hit harder. Let the gentle sway of the hammock rock you into a serene slumber. We promise it will add a moment of peace to your busy day.
3. Share your hammock pics
Let’s take a trip down memory lane of the adventures you and your hammock have been on together. Share your photo or video on social media and encourage your friends to get out and hammock. Be sure to tag us so we can show your post some love! (Bonus points if you give us a follow on TikTok too!)
While you’re in the archives of your camera roll, submit your favorite photo to our monthly Photo and Video Contest for your chance to win a $250 ENO gift card. All the deets on how to enter are here.
4. WFH (Work From Hammock)
We get it—National Hammock Day is a Tuesday, and you have to work. How will you make time to hammock? Exercise your use of free will and work FROM your hammock. Our Parklite Hammock Chair Stand blows your desk chair out of the water in terms of comfort. You may even experience a boost in creativity. We promise we won’t tell your boss.

5. Gift a hammock
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again. Hammocks are the perfect gift. Any person, at any age, and at any experience level can hammock. It’s one of those outdoor activities that you don’t need to train for or have any special skills. It helps people unwind, relax, and connect with nature. Who wouldn’t want that?
If you have an extra or older hammock, gift it to someone you love. Want to treat them to a new one? Our one-day flash sale on 7/22 is a great chance to score gear up to 25% off.
6. Clean + repair your gear
There’s no better way to honor your gear than by treating it with respect and care. Chances are, your hammock could use a spa day. We have a blog on how we recommend cleaning your hammock. If you have small holes or tears (under 2 inches) consider our hammock repair kit.
If you have an old, ripped hammock that is no longer of use to you, send it back to us, and we will responsibly recycle it! In return, you’ll get a discount on your next hammock purchase. A win-win.
7. Install an indoor hammock hanging kit
If you’re feeling like there is never enough time to get out and hammock… let’s bring the hammock to you. Our Deluxe Indoor Hammock Hanging Kit allows you to transform a corner of your home into a hammock haven. You’ll get a lot more use out of your hammock if it’s set up and ready to go, right at home.

8. Donate to protect public lands
If we don’t have access to public lands, parks, and healthy trees, we won’t have a place to hammock. It’s that simple. Consider donating to organizations that are working to preserve and protect our wild spaces. Some of our favorites are the Trust for Public Lands, the Outdoor Foundation, and the American Hiking Society.
9. Create a hammock playlist
When you think about hammocking, what songs come to mind? Curate your ideal playlist to listen to while hammocking, or a playlist that bottles up that same feeling of relaxation that hammocking provides.
10. Teach someone new the art of hammocking
If you’re the hammock friend in your group, spread the love and teach someone new how to hammock. They may be intimidated. They might not know where to start, where to hang their hammock, or be afraid the hammock won’t hold their weight.
There can be a lot of barriers to trying new outdoor activities. Help make it feel more accessible to someone in your life who’s curious to try it. Don’t forget to share these hammock safety tips!

11. Leave it better
Consider volunteering in a place you enjoy recreating in. Is there a trail you could clean, or a local organization that could use your help? It feels good to care for the places that mean something to you. Dive deep into your community, and then afterwards kick back in your hammock as a treat.
Now you’re stocked up on ideas to celebrate National Hammock Day for years to come. We hope to see you out there on July 22, celebrating in nature.
