Love spending time outside? Then chances are you already understand the magic of trails. National Trails Day®, celebrated on the first Saturday in June, is the perfect excuse to lace up your boots, pack your hammock, and head outside.
But what is National Trails Day®, and why is it so important?
What is National Trails Day?
National Trails Day® was launched by American Hiking Society in 1993 to bring attention to the more than 200,000 miles of trails across the U.S. and the people who love, maintain, and protect them. Since then, it’s grown into a nationwide movement that brings together outdoor enthusiasts to give back to the places that give us so much.
Whether you're hiking, biking, paddling, or hammocking trailside, National Trails Day® is about celebrating and giving back to the trails you love.

Why Does National Trails Day Matter?
National Trails Day® is a day of public events aimed at advocacy and trail service. It promotes outdoor stewardship, conservation, and equitable access to nature, helping to create a future where everyone can enjoy their time outside.
It’s like Earth Day’s more adventurous cousin.
How Can I Celebrate National Trails Day®?
Find a local event or create your own to join the nationwide movement.
Hike a local trail – Grab a friend (or two) and hit a favorite trail or explore a new one. Bring a trash bag and help leave the trail better than you found it.
Share your story – Post a photo or video and tag #NationalTrailsDay and @AmericanHiking to spread the word and for your chance to win an epic prize pack, including an ENO Classic Hammock + Straps Bundle. Contest ends June 14, 2025.
Hang your favorite hammock – Nothing says “trail break” like a peaceful swing in the trees. Just make sure to use tree-friendly straps and follow Leave No Trace guidelines.

Just Around the Bend
At ENO, we’re passionate about people, the planet, and creating a future where everyone can enjoy their time outside. Outdoor stewardship and trails are part of our DNA. Whether you're exploring the backcountry or finding peace in a neighborhood greenway, trails connect us to nature, ourselves, and each other.
That’s why we’re excited for something even bigger, a growing partnership with American Hiking Society, set to take root in 2026. This is one journey you’ll want to follow.
See you out there—and don’t forget your hammock.
