Gear Matchmaking

Do you struggle to make decisions? Now more than ever it feels like you must do a lot of research to sift through the endless options and variations of gear.

Let us help make your life a little easier. Think of this as like a concierge service matchmaking your interests with the perfect piece of ENO gear.

Going backpacking across Southeast Asia? We’ve got gear for that. Going to the beach for a week with your crazy aunt. We got a safe little corner for you to retreat to.

Whether hammocking is the main event, or a side quest on another adventure, we want to make sure you have the best gear for your needs.

Let’s dive in. You choose the activity, and we will give you our very official, highly scientific ENO gear recommendation:

Climbing in Community

“Bouldering with my friends is how I like to spend my free time. I love the climbing, but the sitting around, catching up with snacks and a few bevies is always the highlight of the day for me.”

For you, our community-loving climber, we recommend the DoubleNest Hammock paired with Atlas Hammock Straps. It’s spacious enough to share, for when you’re feeling chatty, but just the right amount of fabric to wrap yourself up in when you’re feeling an afternoon snooze.

The combination of being lifted off the ground for that sweet cross-breeze and the delightful shade from the trees makes it the best place to cool off between sends.

Winter Blues

“I live in a northern state where winters are loooong, grey, and dreary. I can feel myself withering away by not getting my outdoor fix during those long winter months.”

We feel you on this. Colder months, especially in extreme climates, can limit our outside time. This dilemma was partially what inspired our product team to design the Parklite Hammock Chair Stand.

A college-aged guy smiles while sitting in the ENO Parklite Hammock Chair Stand. He is holding a slice of pizza and is smiling at a college-aged woman. She is sitting in the Lounger DL Chair. They are in a college dorm room.

It converts your hammock into a freestanding chair that you can use anywhere - especially inside. We wanted to give your hammock more use at home, instead of sitting sadly on your shelf.

The Parklite stand only weighs 8 lbs, so it’s lightweight, with a small footprint to fit anywhere. It’s been a hit with kids (with supervision), folks on the autism spectrum, and even college kids. Pairing it with your DoubleNest Hammock Print is the move for a spacious, colorful hammock throne to use anywhere.

Euro Summer

“I have been saving, planning, and dreaming about my European summer for years. I have been slowly acquiring what I need for the various climates and activities I will be doing. I’ve never this far from home, for this amount of time. The nerves and excitement are getting real!”

So exciting! Way to make your dream trip come to life. It can be intimidating to travel for extended periods without your creature comforts. We’d recommend bringing a travel hammock to have a little piece of home with you.

You’d be able to use it in local parks, on beaches, and maybe even your hostels will have a place to set up hammocks. It would be a guaranteed place to rest and relax, but also a unique perspective to take in your surroundings.

We would recommend the TravelNest Hammock + Straps Combo, as the straps and hammock all fit within one compact stuff sack, making it perfect for travel.

Riding Light

“I am an avid mountain biker. I feel immense clarity when I lock into the trail and cruise. I’m looking for something to bring along on my ride that won’t weigh me down, but will allow me to slow down and enjoy my surroundings during my ride.”

When ripping it around curves and leaping over jumps, you don’t want anything weighing you down.

When you’re trying to save weight and space, but you don’t want to sacrifice comfort, the SuperSub Ultralight Hammock paired with the Helios Ultralight Hammock Straps is the move.

A woman smiles and sits in the ENO SuperSub Ultralight Hammock, Yellow/Steel. The Helios Ultralight Hammock Straps are holding the hammock up. The Sierra Nevadas are behind her.

It weighs less than 10 oz, but has the same width as our classic DoubleNest. It’s compact and won’t add drag to your ride. We love the Yellow/Steel color to brighten up your hang.

ISO: Book Nook

“Curling up with a book and a fresh cup of tea or coffee is my happy place. I bounce around from my bed to the couch, to my favorite chair by the window. What’s the best option for me, if I’d like to move outside, but I have limited outdoor space, and no trees?”

Reading outside is a main character energy. Sure, you could opt for an Adirondack chair or a blanket on the lawn, but there is something about reading in a hammock that makes time stand still.

For limited space and trees, the DayLoft Hammock paired with the Parkway Adjustable Hammock Stand is your best bet. The DayLoft is a space-saving spreader bar hammock that packs the comfort and stability into a smaller package. The Parkway adjusts between 7 and 8 feet to conform to your space.

Jump in and let’s crush that reading goal.

Camping Newbie

“At the beginning of the year, I set the intention of camping more. At least 3 times. I have a hodgepodge of gear that I have been gifted or bought second-hand. As a newbie to camping, I get nervous about feeling comfortable and safe spending so much time outside. I don’t want to spend a bunch of money on things I don’t need, but it’s hard to know what I should invest in to enjoy my experience more. Any tips?”

The beginning of a new hobby can feel intimidating. The best way to figure out your camping kit is to start small. Use what you already have for an overnight close to home (even in your own backyard!). Ensure you have the basic necessities covered: shelter, food, water, cooking supplies, and shade.

What items from home can you also use at camp? You don’t need a “camp pillow” when you have plenty of regular pillows from home. Use the overnight as a testing ground to see what you’re missing or would like to upgrade.

There are lots of creators who share their camping tips and tricks that can be a super helpful resource for getting started and specific gear recommendations.

The Fridie Outdoors App is another great resource for having camp tutorials at your fingertips, you can watch offline at your campsite. They cover everything from reading a map, setting up your tent, and building a campfire.

When it comes to comfort at camp, a hammock goes a long way in providing another place to sit, cool off, or tap out for an afternoon nap. The TravelNest Hammock + Straps combo is the best beginner hammock that doesn’t break the bank. It’s our most economical hammock bundle, where you get a hammock and straps for $54.95.

You can also check Facebook Marketplace or your local second-hand outdoor retailer for pre-loved hammock gear.

Sun Smart

“I am lucky to live in a place with lots of waterways to explore. Lakes, rivers, and even the ocean are a short drive from my house. I plan to spend a lot of time on the water this summer with my kayak.”

Nothing beats loading up a cooler and hopping on the river for hours on end. An absolute game-changer for your halfway lunch spot is ensuring you have proper shade. The sun can be brutal, beating down on you while you paddle.

When you bring the SunFly Shade, you can take a break from the heat and enjoy those PB+Js. It sets up using the included poles, or can utilize trees, for a big hunk of shade on shore.

Zen in Mayhem

“I have always been a bit eccentric. I love expressing myself with dyeing my hair, getting new tattoos, and loud (elaborate) outfits, even for everyday errands. I went to my first music festival when I was 18 and have been hooked ever since. It’s one of those rare times when you can experience collective awe with a massive group of people. Everyone is accepted, and you’re free to express yourself anonymously in a sea of other individuals.”

We have a shared affinity for music festivals. It’s how ENO got started - selling hammocks out of a van at music festivals and community gatherings. We are well acquainted with the magic that transpires there.

Our DoubleNest Hammock Prints were designed with self-expression in mind. Each print has its distinct style and vibe, waiting to be discovered by those it resonates with. They are colorful, fun, and intricate. You may notice something new each time you lie in it.

Hammocks come in handy during festivals. They give you a spot to get off your feet and listen to the music. They help you cool off and take a quiet moment to yourself. They provide a relaxing contrast to the high-energy of the rest of the festival happenings.

Pain in my Beach

“My beach chairs are in desperate need of an upgrade. They are way too heavy to lug around through the sand when they aren’t even that comfortable. The metal bars dig into my neck, and the webbing is disintegrating in the sun and elements.”

The beach is one of those places that is simultaneously relaxing and teeters on overstimulating without the right precautions. The sand getting on everything, the hot sun heightening emotions, the insatiable seagulls… the least you can do is guarantee you have a comfortable place to kick back and unwind.

The Lounger DL Mesh Chairs were made for beach bumming. The mesh fabric allows for the ocean breeze (as well as water and sand) to pass through, making you cool and comfortable.

Unlike other stiff beach chairs, the Lounger DL conforms to your body, cradling you so you sink in. The high back and head pillow make you feel supported, but combined with the sound of the waves and the cool breeze, it will have you nodding off to sleep. Dare we say, it’s the perfect beach chair.

These are some examples of the use cases our product team imagined while designing these products. The beauty of ENO gear is its versatility. Each product can be used for much more than the one scenario we described. Who wants to own more single-purpose products? (Not us!)

Let us know how we did. Leave anyone out? Drop a comment about your adventure needs, and we will pair you with your dream ENO gear.
