The Fontes Family is excited to bring their ENO hammocks and gear on family hikes and camping trips this year. They enjoy spending quality time together outside as a family, and are actively passing down their appreciation and respect for nature to their kids. Get to know this outdoorsy family of four: 

Where are you located? 

Salt Lake City, Utah (but moving to Fresno, California in June). 

How did you get interested in the outdoors? Why do you think time outside is important?

Both Andy and Tyler have loved the outdoors their entire lives and as kids loved camping and exploring nature. Now as Dads, they love sharing these experiences with their kids. Time outside is so important because it’s a great balance and a mental break away from your day to day routine. It’s also great for kids because it helps them build self confidence and courage as they explore nature and adventure outside. 

What are your favorite outdoor activities? 

As a family we love hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, and biking through the neighborhood. 

What is your favorite 12 oz beverage to keep in the stash pocket of your hammock?

Spindrift is our favorite, along with any locally brewery beer for the Dads. 

What is your history with ENO gear? 

We have hammock experience but this will be our first time enjoying ENO gear.  

Fun Fact? 

We hiked the Narrows in Zion National Park with our boys in child backpack carriers when they were 1 year old. Caellum also took his first steps on that trip while at the Zion campground! 

Best advice you were ever given? 

"Don’t let having kids stop you from adventuring and enjoying the outdoors." And it’s so true, we feel experiencing the outdoors as a family is the best thing ever!  We have been hiking with our boys from the moment they were old enough for a backpack carrier.
