Meet Evan Weinstein

Bringing '90s nostalgia, the DoubleNest Hammock Print, Splash, was designed by ENO's Art Director, Evan Weinstein. Splash immerses you in a refreshing burst of water's natural movement and energy. We sat down with Evan to hear how this print came to be.

Who are you and what is your role at ENO?

I’m an artist and designer based in Asheville, North Carolina. When I'm not working as the Art Director for ENO, you’ll likely find me outdoors on my bicycle or immersed in creative projects in my home studio.

How/when did your artist journey start?

My journey as an artist began at a very young age. Growing up with a father who worked as an airbrush artist in advertising, and a mother in the fashion industry with a love for quilting, I was immersed in creativity from the start. After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art, I launched my career in the advertising industry as a graphic designer. However, outside of the 9-to-5, I continually found inspiration and excitement in painting, metalsmithing, and printmaking.

How were you first introduced to ENO before you started working here?

During college, I had some exposure to ENO products, but it wasn’t until I became immersed in the world of bikepacking, through my growing involvement in the cycling community, that I truly embraced hammock culture. This is where my passion for ENO products really took root.

What mediums do you specialize in?

Outside of digital illustration and animation, I move between acrylic painting, metal smithing, printmaking, and 35mm film photography.

Please describe your design process, from idea to conception. How did this print come to be?

Working full-time in visual advertising sparked a desire to create art that wasn’t bound by the need for a defined visual identity. Growing up in the '90s, I was always drawn to the retro shapes and bold colors of the era, which now inspire my approach to abstract design.

What makes this print concept special or unique? What is the story behind your design?

Splash draws inspiration from my acrylic paintings, which explore the fluid, abstract nature of liquid shapes. Additionally, it incorporates subtle messaging that ties back to the ENO brand, creating a truly one-of-a-kind hammock experience.

Are there any hidden easter eggs for people to look for when using the hammock?

Sure enough is. ;) Pay close attention to the shapes to decode a handful of secret messages.

What feeling do you hope this hammock resonates with the user?

My hope is that Splash captures a sense of refreshed nostalgia, offering a relaxing yet engaging experience for all who use it.
