I have been visiting Helen, GA since I was a kid. It is a quaint little German-themed town nestled in North Georgia. You can “Shoot the Hooch”, fly fish, camp, shop, hike to Anna Ruby Falls, or just enjoy a nice lunch by the river.
Hammocks have recently exploded into the market recently for backpackers, travelers, outdoorsmen, and backyard users.  Thanks to their versatility, popularity is growing as people continue to buy hammocks. If you’re like me, you bought one and either brought it home that day or waited anxiously for it to arrive in the mail.  You may have read or seen a video on how to properly set one up so you can use it right way, but when I got mine I just went for it and tried to set it up without previous instruction.  Here are three tips I wish I had known before attempting to hang for the first time:   Strap Height This is the most important tip that I wish I had known.  How high up on a tree you attach the straps at does matter.  My first attempt ever to set up a hammock was about 5 minutes after UPS dropped it off, and it ended with me laying on our deck  since the straps were so low to the ground, and the natural sag led me to the ground the second I laid in the hammock.  Always great for your head.   Distance Matters How far...

So…you live in a big city and think there’s nowhere to hammock?  Think again! Sometimes the best place to hammock is the place where no one else thinks is possible.
Michigan often gets a bad reputation due to the common misconception of a sprawling demise because of poorly managed finances and struggling industries.  In reality, Michigan is one of the country’s hottest vacation spots. Thanks to Pure Michigan, the state’s wildly popular national tourism campaign, the state has once again started bringing tourists into the state in droves.
Close your eyes and picture your favorite nature spot. It might be the beach, a hiking trail, or a secluded area of the forest with a trickling stream.

Now image that same spot but this time it is littered with trash, all the flowers have been picked from the meadow as souvenirs, and there is graffiti on the sprawling cliffs. Not so nice, is it?

The Blue Ridge Parkway is dubbed as “America’s Favorite Drive” and it definitely lives up to its name. There are more than 450 miles of road to drive and nearly 100,000 thousand acres of land to explore! Here are five must see places on the Parkway!
Before, during and after a long day of backpacking, paddling, climbing, exploring or adventuring, it’s absolutely necessary to eat right, eat well, and eat a lot!
